Shin Shin Architecture is a female and minority-owned architecture and research practice based in Los Angeles and Detroit. Founded in 2019, the firm’s award-winning work ranges from ADUs and single-family homes to multi-family residences and mixed-use commercial spaces. Principal Melissa Shin and her hands-on team are committed to building long-term collaborative relationships with their clients and community partners who share a foundational belief that architecture and design can have a lasting positive impact on social and built environments.
Shin Shin received the 2022 AIA Los Angeles Emerging Practice Award, the highest honor the organization bestows on an emerging firm to recognize notable, innovative achievements in design, community service, education, and service to the profession. The firm was also recognized as the Best New Firm in the West by the Architect’s Newspaper (2021) and AN’s Top 50 Architects and Designers list (2022, 2023).
